RIYADH — Abdulrahman Alfadley, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, unveiled the World Water Forum 2027’s official logo in Riyadh on Monday. Loïc Fauchon, president of the World Water Council, attended the launching event. The ceremony signaled the start of the launch meeting for the important event that will be hosted in the Middle East for the first time, the 11th World Water Forum. Numerous experts and professionals have gathered for the summit to discuss urgent global water challenges and to lay up a plan for the Kingdom to host the forum’s main event in 2027.
Speaking during the event, Alfadley underlined Saudi Arabia’s need for increased international collaboration and coordinated efforts between nations and organizations to address the world’s water issues. He emphasized that one of the most crucial pillars in accomplishing Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) is guaranteeing universal access to water and sanitation services.
Alfadley said that Saudi Arabia has made the water sector a priority through a number of initiatives, such as the implementation of a national strategy that covers water production, storage, distribution, transportation, treatment, and reuse within an extensive institutional framework.
