RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is putting a lot of emphasis on its most important resource, its youth, as it restructures its economy and goals under Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia is laying the groundwork for a new generation of highly qualified professionals who will not only spur growth but also revolutionise the economy through a dynamic combination of public-private partnerships, focused training, and innovative initiatives.
Sixty-three percent of the Kingdom’s population is under thirty, according to 2023 data from the General Authority for Statistics, and the public and business sectors are collaborating to mould the future. PwC Middle East chairman and Saudi Arabia country senior partner Riyadh Al-Najjar told Arab News that “digital literacy is essential as technological advancements require the younger generation to not only be proficient in the latest advancements but also drive innovation in areas like AI and data analytics.”
Since the expansion of the private sector is essential to Vision 2030’s achievement, he continued, “an entrepreneurial mindset is equally important.” Young people must be able to recognise opportunities, exercise critical thought, and resolve issues that contribute to the economy.
In a similar vein, Red Sea Global’s executive director of talent development, Zehar Filemban, highlighted the critical competencies Saudi Arabia is emphasising to equip its young people for positions in a changing economy.
