Saudi Arabia’s Global Leadership in Conjoined Twin Surgeries

RIYADH: On Monday, conjoined twins from Pakistan traveled to Saudi Arabia to have the potential of separation surgery evaluated. Sufyan and Yusuf, together with their parents, were transported from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital. The twins’ condition will be assessed at this facility, which is run by the Saudi Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs.

On orders from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, they were transported by air to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Press Agency stated that the twins’ family thanked the Saudi people and government for their cordial reception and quick handling of their situation.

The Saudi leadership was also commended for the humanitarian effort by Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, who leads the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program’s medical and surgical team. The Kingdom is now a world leader in the field and a ray of hope for families seeking treatment thanks to his team’s expertise in conjoined twin separation surgeries,” the SPA continued.
