RIYADH: Tajikistan’s envoy to the Kingdom stated that the country views Saudi Arabia as a significant partner and looks forward to enhancing relations at all levels.
“For over 33 years, my country has been moving forward with strength and determination in its journey to preserve its independence and sovereignty, and achieve the accomplishments it aspires to on the path of progress,” Akram M. Karimi said at a reception held at the Culture Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh to mark Tajikistan’s 33rd Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of its constitution.
Karimi stated that his country valued the Kingdom as a significant partner and was eager to strengthen collaboration. “Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to recognise Tajikistan’s independence and establish diplomatic ties,” Karimi added.
He stated that the two countries already had solid relationships with the UN, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
Karimi noted that Saudi Arabia had provided financial help for Tajikistan’s development through organisations like KSrelief, the Saudi Fund for Development, and the Islamic Development Bank.
