The First Phase of the SR600 Million Madinah Gate Project is Launched by the Emir of Madinah

Madinah — The first phase of the Madinah Gate project, which is based on the idea of Transport-Oriented Development (TOD), was officially opened on Monday by Prince Salman bin Sultan, the emir of Madinah. An estimated SR600 million ($160 million) will be invested in the first phase of this contemporary integrated urban planning project.

A video presentation about the Madinah Gate project, which is directly connected to the Haramain High Speed Rail Station, was shown during the opening ceremony. It consists of three main parts: a modern bus station that can handle up to 780 passengers per hour, a hotel with 325 rooms, 80 retail stores, 44 restaurants, and entertainment facilities, and a hotel Double Tree by Hilton.

The launch of the Madinah Gate project is a significant event that reflects the company’s dedication to fulfilling the objectives of Vision 2030 by offering cutting-edge and sustainable urban solutions, according to Amin Shaker, chairman of the Knowledge Economic City’s Board of Directors. “This project is a real estate development with a strategic step aimed at enhancing the status of Madinah as a global destination for visitors, through an integrated infrastructure that contributes to raising the quality of life,” he stated.

Shaker claims that the Madinah Gate project is the outcome of collaboration between Knowledge Economic City and the Saudi Railway Company (SAR), with backing from the Madinah Mayoralty, the Madinah Development Authority, and the emirate of the area. The Economic Cities Special Zones Authority is directly in charge of overseeing the project. “It is the first among the company’s projects in the southern region adjacent to the train station, and is integrated to form a series of projects that serve the Vision’s goals for the hospitality, housing, entertainment, shopping and cultural sectors to serve visitors to Madinah,” he stated.
