Nairobi: The son of the president of Uganda declared Thursday that military women would not be allowed to wear pants and that any citizen who voted against his father in the next elections would be deported.
The opposition has been increasingly targeted in recent months, and the east African nation is scheduled to host a general election in January. Long-time President Yoweri Museveni’s son and heir apparent, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is notorious for his colourful tweets that cover everything from his social life to military issues.
He used an honorific for his father when he said on X on Thursday that anyone “who do not support Mzee wholeheartedly better be cautious!.
“We will publicly deport all traitors!” he continued. According to Justice Minister Norbert Mao, Kainerugaba claimed earlier this month to have kidnapped and tortured Eddie Mutwe, the bodyguard of opposition leader Bobi Wine, who subsequently showed up in court with evidence of torture.
The army commander concluded his series of announcements by announcing that all serving women would henceforth march in skirts.
Trousers are not for ladies; they are for males. He clarified, “Anyone who makes our sisters wear trousers on parade once more is going to have an evil day.
