The Kingdom's Library Introduces Chinese Readers to Saudi Culture

Through its publishing program, the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh is leading an effort to familiarize Chinese-speaking people to Saudi culture.

A number of Arabic literary, cultural, and scientific works were chosen for translation into Chinese, among other languages.

Chinese readers are to be given a thorough understanding of modern Saudi culture through the program, according to an official statement.

One of the most well-known works the library has translated into Chinese is the first volume of “The Comprehensive Encyclopedia of Saudi Arabia.” This translation serves as a foundation for the translation of all 20 volumes of the encyclopedia.

With an emphasis on their history, archeology, culture and geography, economy, social patterns, customs and traditions, tourism, and wildlife, the books will cover every part of the Kingdom.

Additionally, the library has translated “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China: A History of Trade Relations between China and the Arabian Peninsula,” which emphasizes the scientific accomplishments of China in a variety of fields, including astronomy, sciences, geography, agriculture, and medicine, as well as the contributions made by the Arab-Islamic nation.
