RIYADH: The Riyadh Design Law Treaty was formally ratified by World Intellectual Property Organization member states on Friday, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
At the Diplomatic Conference to Conclude and Adopt a Design Law Treaty, held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, which concluded on Friday, the agreement was reached. Its goals include strengthening designers’ rights and standardizing design registration processes.
The Riyadh deal is expected to promote innovation and creativity in a variety of businesses globally by creating a strong legal framework, the SPA continued.
The CEO of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, Abdulaziz Al-Suwailem, discussed the importance of the treaty’s ratification.
The Riyadh Treaty’s name, he said, “reflects Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role as a hub for supporting global initiatives and a bridge between cultures.”
Saudi Arabia’s collaboration and commitment to the global intellectual property framework are highlighted by the historic achievement of adopting this pact. It creates new opportunities for member states to work together.High-level officials and decision-makers from the 193 WIPO member states attended the event, which was organized by the SAIP.
