RIYADH: The official launch of Pokemon Go in Saudi Arabia has brought together a community of players who have embraced their inner child while competing and interacting in a world of nostalgic adventure.
Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game that immerses players in a world where colorful creatures with unearthly abilities, known as Pokemon, coexist with people.
With players from Riyadh and the Eastern Province who share a passion for the game, a local gaming organization called “Pokemon Go Saudi” has established a vibrant community.
Having played various iterations of the game for over two decades, Maan Al-Qurashi, one of the community leaders at Pokemon Go Saudi, told Arab News that the game has a particular place in his heart.
Pokémon was at my side from childhood to adolescence, and it continues to play a role in my everyday life even now, after I got married. I hope to instill the same enthusiasm in my children.There are already 500 individuals in the community, representing a wide range of ages, who have developed enduring friendships with their Pokemon companions. Together, they learn to get better, go on excursions, and compete in friendly matches.
