The Saudi Government is the First in the World to be Certified Under the New ISO AI Management System

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the International Standards institution’s 42001:2023 certification for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems has been attained by the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, making it the first institution globally in this regard.

The first of its type for AIMS is the ISO standard, which was unveiled in December of last year. It offers direction on how to deal with issues like moral principles, openness, and ongoing education that arise from AI.

It also outlines a methodical strategy for maintaining a balance between innovation and governance in businesses utilizing AI technologies, as well as for handling risks and opportunities.

In addition to reflecting Saudi Arabia’s expanding reputation for excellence in the field of data and AI, SDAIA President Abdullah Al-Ghamdi expressed his pride in the accreditation. He said it signifies the authority’s adoption of suitable standards and practices linked to AI management.

He continued by saying that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who chairs the authority’s board of directors, would not be able to continue to support the organization’s advancement and accomplishments.

He continued, “With this support, the organization can act as a national hub for data and artificial intelligence, and it can design, develop, and oversee the application of these technologies in ways that guarantee their proper governance and establish Saudi Arabia as a leader in the field.”
