Syrian artist Hayat Saker’s latest exhibition, Untitled, currently on display at the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts in Dammam captures a soulful blend of art, tradition and emotion. The show features 41 pieces who created over several years across Syria and Saudi Arabia, combining hand-stitched threads with painted canvases to narrate stories of balance and controlled chaos.
Saker, who moved to the Kingdom two years ago, described her art as both handmade and “heart-made. She said that living in Saudi Arabia gives her a sense of peace and belonging, as the culture and atmosphere remind her of her homeland. Many of her techniques stem from the Syrian traditions passed down to through her family, though she adds her own personal touch, weaving emotions and memories into every piece.
The exhibition also highlights her family’s involvement in art. Her husband, Nedal Al-Hmeidi, and their three children twin daughters Sewar and Emar, and son Rami joined her for the opening night. The display reflects a shared passion for creativity family bonds and a deep-rooted appreciation for artistic expression.
