JAKARTA — Following a high-level visit to Jakarta, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar AlKhorayef held a number of talks to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the mining and industrial sectors. AlKhorayef met with Erick Thohir, Indonesia’s Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, during his tour to discuss opportunities for industrial integration, joint investment, and cooperation in key industries such mining, petrochemicals, and car manufacturing.
AlKhorayef underlined that Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Strategy serves as the foundation for the Kingdom’s dedication to creating an environment that is both competitive and welcoming to investors. In addition to congratulating Saudi Arabia on its winning bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, Thohir reaffirmed the significance of strengthening connections between the two countries and reaffirmed Indonesia’s support for the momentous occasion.
AlKhorayef also spoke with Saudi Ambassador Faisal Alamudi, Saudi EXIM Bank CEO Eng. Saad Alkhalb, and Sukatmo Padmosukarso, Executive Director of Exim Bank Indonesia. The two banks signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the end of the conference with the goal of improving trade finance and expanding potential for cooperative investment in mining and industries.
