RIYADH: Doctors, healthcare professionals, and medical students convene for the second International Conference on Mass Gatherings and Emergency Medicine to deliberate on the latest advancements and obstacles in the fields of emergency medicine and mass gatherings. The Madinah Chamber of Commerce is in charge of organising the conference.
The three-day conference, which ends on Thursday, is chaired by Dr. Mohammad Alfaifi, a paediatric emergency medicine consultant at Alfaisal University. He noted that sessions are devoted to papers and research presented by speakers from both the Kingdom and elsewhere.
Among the speakers is Professor Abdo Khoury, who described preparations and obstacles during the Paris Olympics. Dr. Muna Al-Musleh, a Qatari emergency medical consultant, spoke on her nation’s 2022 FIFA World Cup hosting.
Using AI for crowd control during the Hajj and Umrah seasons was the topic of a study presented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research.
Alfaifi stressed the importance of the conference to better equip medical personnel for Saudi Arabia’s planned international events, such as the World Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup.
