DAMMAM: On Thursday, the International School Group Dammam held its first-ever TEDx event, commemorating a critical milestone for the school as 11 students shared their thoughts and perspectives on stage.
With the theme “Imagine the Impossible,” students from grades 7–12 spoke about a range of subjects, from global issues to personal development.
Independently planned events licensed by TED, a well-known international platform renowned for its succinct, impactful, and brief lectures, are referred to as TEDx.
TEDx events are community-driven, locally organised speeches that follow the same structure as TED conferences, which gained popularity on YouTube. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. The “x” indicates that the event was independently planned while still following the exacting standards and structure of TED.
The students’ coach, English teacher Nadia Iqbal, expressed her pride in their work. “The scripts are original, and the students have worked on them for many hours. From expressing that notion to developing it and considering what we can provide TEDx that wasn’t previously available, they have truly put in a lot of effort,” she told News.
