RIYADH — The Board of Directors of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property has been reconstituted for a three-year term by royal edict. The authority is a legitimate government agency in charge of safeguarding and promoting intellectual property in Saudi Arabia. The board will continue to be chaired by Shihana Alazzaz. Some current members have had their terms extended, while other members were recently admitted to the board.
Along with adding Prof. Badr Al-Qadi and Dr. Muhammad Al-Otaibi as new board members, the royal approval also extended the terms of the current members, Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali, Eng. Osama Al-Zamil, and Dima bint Yahya Al-Yahya. The Authority’s CEO is also a member of the Board of Directors.
On behalf of herself and the board members, Shihana, the chairperson of the authority’s board, expressed gratitude to King Salman, the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their unwavering and generous support of the authority. She also thanked the previous board members for their outstanding services and prayed to God Almighty to help the incoming board members succeed so that the authority might succeed.
The creation of the new Board of Directors, according to Dr. Al-Suwailem, the authority’s CEO, is a testament to the wise leadership’s ongoing and generous support of the authority’s remarkable journey and its desire to accomplish its objectives.
