More Than 680 Outstanding Researchers and Individuals in the Technology Sector Are Granted Saudi Premium Residency

RIYADH — At the fourth LEAP 2025 Technology Conference, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology declared that 685 outstanding researchers and talent in the technology sector had been granted Premium Residency in Saudi Arabia under the “Exceptional Competence Residency” program. This was disclosed at a session held on Monday at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre on the second day of the LEAP 2025 Tech Conference. The conference with the subject “Into New Worlds” was opened by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha on Sunday at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre.

5G technology experts make up the largest percentage of those who have Premium Residency under the “Exceptional Competence Residency” program (16%), followed by cloud computing experts (15%). These areas serve as the foundation for improving digital infrastructure, which strengthens the Kingdom’s standing as a pioneer in the adoption of contemporary technologies.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning specialists were given Premium Residency in order to foster innovation; they made up 12% of the talents that received Premium Residency. Because of their contribution to the growth of numerous sectors, including the healthcare, education, and digital industries, these fields are among the Kingdom’s top objectives.
