RIYADH: On Wednesday night, the personnel of the Djibouti Embassy in Riyadh celebrated their national day by dressing in patriotic attire and throwing an appropriate celebration to commemorate the event. The dean of the Diplomatic Corps and ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to Saudi Arabia, Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, threw an official reception at the Cultural Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter to commemorate the 48th anniversary of Djibouti’s National Independence.
Prince Sultan bin Salman, the founder and chairman of the Saudi Aviation Club, and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, the deputy governor of the Riyadh Region, attended the ceremony as patrons and guests of honour. Numerous princes, diplomats, prominent businesspeople, media professionals, artists, and members of the Saudi and Djibouti communities also attended the celebration.
Speaking to the audience, the ambassador emphasised Djibouti’s outstanding accomplishments during the previous fifty years, especially with regard to peace, security, and sustainable development. He also underlined the strong and genuine brotherly ties that bind the two countries’ leaders and citizens together. The envoy also reiterated Djibouti’s steadfast and uncompromising support for the Palestinian cause, calling for the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the creation of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
