RIYADH: As the Kingdom works to transform space and digital technologies into new engines of economic growth and sustainability, Saudi Arabia’s space economy is expected to nearly double from $8.7 billion in 2024 to $31.6 billion by 2035.
According to the Digital & Space Sustainability Report 2026, released by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission with assistance from the International Telecommunication Union, more than half of the key climatic variables may be measured from space. The study emphasizes how satellite technologies are used in agriculture, desertification, water management, climate monitoring, and disaster relief.
This comes after CST’s KSA Space Market Report 2025 predicted last year that Saudi Arabia’s space economy will expand at a compound annual growth rate of 12 percent through 2035. The extension is a component of a larger effort to use technology to solve environmental issues while creating digital infrastructure and space-based businesses.
“Saudi Arabia is committed to unlocking the full potential of artificial intelligence and digital innovation as powerful enablers of sustainable development,” stated Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, in the report’s opening remarks.
