Saudi Arabia, through the National Center for e-Learning, hosted the 24th meeting of the Committee of e-Learning Officials in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on November 6. The event brought together the director of education at the GCC along with deans e-learning leaders from higher of education institutions and experts in digital education and artificial intelligence. The meeting focused is on strengthening regional collaboration to advance e-learning and promote the exchange of knowledge in digital transformation and educational AI.
Participants discussed several key topics including strategic directions for AI in education governance frameworks and how AI can be practically applied to enhance learning environments. The committee is also reviewed successful initiatives from the Saudi and other Gulf universities along with regulatory policies supporting to the responsible use of technology in education.
Emphasizing the importance of continued Gulf cooperation the attendees agreed on a set of final recommendations. Among them was the adoption of an AI framework proposed by Saudi Arabia’s National Center for e-Learning to serve as a reference model in line with the committee’s strategic aims.
