Al-Sharaa’s visit comes as part of efforts to maintain and develop ties with Russia, a key international player in Middle East politics. Ahead of the talks, Syrian officials said the two leaders will discuss bilateral cooperation, regional developments and shared interests. They are also expected to address strategic issues such as Russia’s military presence in Syria.
