JEDDAH: As industrial permits activity increased along with initiatives to boost industry expansion and investment, Saudi Arabia processed 778 chemical clearance service requests in April, a monthly increase of 29%.
According to an official statement from the ministry, Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, stated that the requests processed in April included 703 applications for clearance of unrestricted chemical imports and 75 applications for permits to import restricted chemicals. The requests covered a total of 2,758 items. Al-Jarrah clarified that the “Senaei” platform, available electronically to industrial sector investors, allows them to request import or export approval for chemicals used in industrial facilities.
The service aims to ensure that chemical clearances are granted through streamlined procedures and in a timely manner, facilitating the entry of materials through ports,” he said, adding that applications are filed through the facility.
The spokesperson underlined the significance of the service in boosting industrial output by automating these procedures within the industrial sector’s digital services platform and streamlining and developing methods for obtaining clearances for chemicals used in production. This strengthens digital services that assist industrial investors.
