Colonel Talal bin Abdulmohsen Al-Shalhoub, the Ministry of Interior’s security spokesman, declared that the first part of the plan to efficiently transport pilgrims to the holy places had been successfully implemented.
During the daily news conference for the Hajj season of 2024, he delivered his comments on Friday. Officials from the Ministries of Hajj and Umrah, Health, Transport, and Logistics were present.
After carrying pilgrims from the Grand Mosque to Mina, where they will spend the night before continuing on to Arafat, Al-Shalhoub declared that the pilgrimage was completed.
He said that thus far, 160 fictitious hajj campaigns had been found, and 135,098 unlawful vehicles had been turned away.
According to Al-Shalhoub, there were 250,381 non-residents of Makkah who were repatriated, and 6,135 of them were found to have broken the city’s rules regarding employment, residency, and border security.
The speaker declared, “Saudi Arabia will always and firmly hinder all efforts to turn the holy sites during Hajj into an arena for demagogic chants that are far removed from the holiness of the occasion, the spirituality of worship, and the purposes of Sharia law.”
Al-Shalhoub continued by saying that there will be severe consequences for any effort to compromise pilgrims’ safety in any manner.
“For the security agencies operating during the Hajj, the security of God’s guests is a red line.”
