A Marine Safety Show is Held By The Border Guard

RIYADH: To encourage safe marine practices and warn against swimming in unapproved locations, the General Directorate of Border Guard is hosting the marine Safety Awareness Exhibition in the Eastern Province. The display at the Mall of Dhahran, which runs until Thursday, emphasizes important beach safety laws, sanctions for breaking them, and advice on how to behave safely at sea. Additionally, it displays the directorate’s search and rescue activities.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, tourists are urged to check the weather, exercise caution should circumstances change, and make sure their vessels are seaworthy before leaving. According to the SPA, the directorate encourages everyone who visits the beach to heed safety warnings and swim only in approved locations.

Recently, Border Guard troops in Jeddah helped nine citizens and an Indian resident when their watercraft broke down, while teams in Haql pulled three individuals out of the ocean. The public should dial 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 994 in other parts of the Kingdom, in case of an emergency.
