According to The Freed British-Israeli Captive, Starmer Risks Rewarding Terror

Sir Keir Starmer is “not standing on the right side of history” with his promise to recognize a Palestinian state, according to a British-Israeli lady trapped by Hamas. The prime minister of the United Kingdom “risks rewarding terror,” according to Emily Damari, who was freed in January after being detained by Hamas for almost 15 months.

If Israel would not agree to a truce and revive the idea of a two-state solution, Sir Keir declared on Tuesday that the UK would recognize a Palestinian state in September. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, claimed that the UK’s position encouraged “Hamas’s monstrous terrorism. According to UN-backed experts, a famine scenario is already unfolding in Gaza, and the UK is one of several nations expressing worry about the situation there.

The “intolerable situation” in Gaza and the worry that “the very possibility of a two-state solution is reducing” are the reasons Sir Keir says he is revealing the idea in a press conference following an emergency cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Although he stated that his “primary aim” was to ameliorate the situation in Gaza, he also demanded that Hamas promptly free all captives, agree to a truce, disarm, and give up its involvement in the governance of Gaza.
