LONDON: Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa welcomed Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to Manama on Monday. The Italian prime minister made an official visit to the Middle East this week, meeting with Saudi leaders in AlUla on Sunday before travelling to Bahrain. Meloni was received by King Hamad at Al-Gudaibiya Palace, where he was joined by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
According to the official Bahrain News Agency, they addressed bilateral relations as well as methods to strengthen economic, commercial, and investment cooperation. The monarch praised Italy’s efforts to promote peace and emphasised the value of communication and diplomatic solutions to address regional and global concerns, according to the BNA. Meloni thanked King Hamad for his kind welcome and efforts to improve historical links between Rome and Manama. King Hamad arranged a luncheon to honour the Italian prime minister and her delegation.
