Can Trump’s Peace Plan End the Gaza Conflict? Israel and Hamas Take the First Step

Saudi Arabia and Arab Nations Support Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan

Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza marking a potential turning point in the two-year-long war that has shaken the Middle East. The agreement, which includes a ceasefire and hostage release deal, was reached on Wednesday after days of indirect negotiations in Egypt.

The accord was announced a day after the second anniversary of the Hamas cross-border attack that triggered Israel’s massive offensive in Gaza. It represents the initial stage of Trump’s 20-point framework designed to restore peace and stability in the Palestinian enclave.

If fully implemented, the deal could bring the two sides closer to ending one of the region’s bloodiest conflicts, which has drawn in nations such as Iran, Yemen, and Lebanon, intensifying Israel’s international isolation and reshaping Middle Eastern geopolitics.

However, the agreement unveiled by Trump lacked specific details and left several crucial issues unresolved, raising questions about its durability. Past peace efforts between Israel and Hamas have often collapsed due to disagreements over implementation.

Announcing the breakthrough on his social media platform Truth Social, he first announced the Phase of our Peace Plan. He added that all hostages held in Gaza would soon be released and Israeli troops would withdraw to an agreed line as the first steps toward.
