Could the Eslamshahr Attack Escalate Middle East Tensions?

At least 13 people were killed in an airstrike that occurred early on Monday in a residential building in a city southwest of Tehran, Iran’s capital, according to Iranian media. The strike near Eslamshar was reported by Nour News and the semi-official Fars news agency.

The reason behind the building’s impact was unclear. The strikes occurred early on Monday after Trump threatened Iran with profanity, demanding that it reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Neither Israel nor the US claimed responsibility for the strikes.

Tehran University targeted by airstrikes connected to weapons research The Sharif University of Technology was the target of early Monday morning airstrikes in Iran’s capital. The strikes and building damage, along with a natural gas distribution station adjacent to the college, were reported by Iranian media.

Since the conflict has forced all schools in the nation to switch to online instruction, it was unclear at first what had been targeted on the university’s grounds. But throughout the years, the university has been sanctioned by several nations for its collaboration with the military, especially on Iran’s ballistic missile program, which is run by the Revolutionary Guard, a paramilitary group.
