RIYADH: One of the most important cultural assets in the company’s growth plan under Vision 2030, the Royal Diriyah Opera House, is poised to be built thanks to an SR5.1 billion ($1.4 billion) contract awarded by The Diriyah Co. Three firms—China State Construction Engineering Corp., Midmac Contracting Company W.L.L., and El-Seif Engineering Contracting—have been given the go-ahead to build the opera house.
The statements issued at the start of the second quarter of 2025 included this new deal as a significant addition. It is a component of Diriyah’s continuous endeavours to revitalise the ancient neighbourhood outside of Riyadh.
In front of Khaled Al-Hazani, executive vice president of the leisure sector at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, and officials from the three businesses, Diriyah’s Group CEO Jerry Inzerillo signed the deal on Wednesday.
The opera house is expected to transform the Kingdom’s cultural environment by becoming a major hub for the performing arts and a famous architectural monument. It will have the largest main hall in the Kingdom, with 2,000 seats. This cultural complex, which will be run by the RCRC, will have the hall as its focal point. It will have 3,100 seats overall and feature a theatre, studio, rooftop amphitheatre, and many multipurpose spaces.
