During Ramadan, the Saudi Ministry of Health Offers 65,000 Medical Treatments to Believers

RIYADH: Throughout the month of Ramadan, the Saudi Ministry of Health has offered medical aid to thousands of Umrah pilgrims and other guests at the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.

The ministry reported on Wednesday that over 65,000 health treatments were rendered to mosque visitors over the first 25 days of the holy month, which ends this weekend. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the treatment is a component of the ministry’s dedication to the security and welfare of tourists visiting Makkah and Madinah. 52,000 ED visits, 10,000 first aid cases, 3,000 dialysis sessions, 400 operations, and over 150 heart catheterizations were among the medical services rendered.

Furthermore, since the beginning of Ramadan, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has responded to almost 46,000 emergency calls in Makkah and Madinah. The average response time for paramedics was 5 minutes and 48 seconds for 31,000 calls and 5 minutes and 26 seconds for the remaining 15,000 calls.
