Eight People were Injured in a Fire Assault in Colorado After a Suspect Shouted, "Free Palestine

A guy yelling “free Palestine” threw Molotov cocktails at a gathering in Colorado in support of Israeli captives, injuring several people, according to officials. Police said eight individuals, ranging in age from 52 to 88, were hurt in the incident at Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall, a popular outdoor spot about 30 miles (48 km) from Denver.

The FBI described it as a suspected terror assault, claiming the suspect utilised a homemade flamethrower, Molotov cocktails, and other incendiary devices. The guy was shirtless, yelling at the group, and holding what seemed to be Molotov cocktails when he was apprehended.

Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn stated at a press conference that officers received complaints at 13:26 local time (20:26 BST) of a guy with a weapon and individuals being set on fire.

Officers who responded discovered several persons injured, including some with burns. Witnesses informed officials that the suspect used a “makeshift flamethrower and threw an incendiary device into the crowd,” said Mark Michalek, the FBI’s Denver office director.

Redfearn stated that the devices included Molotov cocktails thrown at the crowd. Michalek identified the culprit as 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman. According to government authorities who spoke with the BBC’s US partner CBS News, Soliman is an Egyptian national.
