GCC and UK Ministers Unite to Condemn Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Gulf Cooperation Council and UK ministers meeting during the UN General Assembly strongly condemned the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and criticized Israel’s restrictions on aid which have worsened famine and suffering for civilians. The ministers urged all parties to honor their commitments under International Humanitarian Law, specifically regarding the protection of civilians and infrastructure.

Both parties affirmed their dedication to promoting peace and pledged to work closely together to resolve conflicts in unstable regions. They welcomed to the upcoming international conference on the Palestinian Cause and expressed their strong support for advancing a two-state solution with unified Palestinian governance over Gaza and the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.

The GCC and UK also criticized Israel’s strike on Doha on September 9, calling it a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, and reiterated their support for Qatar’s territorial integrity. On economic ties ministers stressed the importance of increasing bilateral trade and investment noting it topped $72 billion in 2024. They reaffirmed their commitment to finalizing the GCC-UK Free Trade Agreement emphasizing its potential to spur job creation and greater prosperity in both regions.
