JERUSALEM: One week after 15 Jews were shot dead at a Jewish gathering in Sydney, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar urged Jews in Western nations to relocate to Israel in order to avoid growing antisemitism on Sunday.
Jews are entitled to live in safety everywhere. However, we have a certain historical experience and are completely aware of what is taking place. At a public candle lighting on the final day of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, Saar declared, “Today, Jews are being hunted across the world.
I’m calling on the Jews of England, France, Australia, Canada, and Belgium to visit the Land of Israel today. “Come home!” Saar stated during the event, which was attended by leaders of Jewish organizations and communities worldwide.
Israeli leaders have frequently condemned an increase in antisemitism in Western nations and accused their governments of failing to stop it since the start of the war in Gaza, which was triggered by Hamas’s historic attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. According to Australian officials, the ideology of the Islamic State terrorist group served as inspiration for the December 14 attack on a Hanukkah gathering on Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
