Saudi security forces have successfully prevented several narcotics smuggling attempts across multiple regions, reinforcing the Kingdom’s ongoing fight against drug trafficking. In the Asir region, border guards in the Al-Raboah sector intercepted an attempt to smuggle 23 kilograms of hashish. The suspects were detained, legal action has begun, and the seized contraband was handed over to the authorities for further investigation.
Meanwhile, patrols in the Al-Aridah Governorate of Jazan Province stopped the smuggling of 11 kilograms of the narcotic qat. The individuals involved were arrested and referred to the competent authorities for prosecution.
In a separate case, security officials in the Eastern Province detained a resident for promoting the illegal use of methamphetamine. He now faces legal proceedings for his involvement in drug-related activities.
Authorities continue to urge citizens and residents to report any suspicious activity connected to drug smuggling or distribution by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, 999 in other regions, or contacting the General Directorate of Narcotics Control through hotline 995 or email.
