How AI is Enabling Saudi Arabia's Emerging Fashion Industry to Reach its Full Creative Potential

The fashion industry in Saudi Arabia has seen a significant metamorphosis in recent times, blossoming into a thriving and dynamic center of creativity in the area. Now that artificial intelligence is growing in strength, additional opportunities are appearing quickly.

Saudi designers have been enthralling audiences around the world, challenging cultural conventions, and exhibiting the Kingdom’s rich legacy via contemporary fashion with a blend of traditional elements and modern creativity.

The debut of spectacular events like Riyadh Fashion Week is a result of the Fashion Commission’s foundation in 2020. The Tasawar show was one notably avant-garde event that coincided with October’s fashion week.

Tasawar, which means “to imagine” in Arabic, was developed by the social media network Snapchat. It allowed users to virtually try on clothes and explore a virtual reality exhibition including the works of five Saudi designers.

The show, according to Saudi Arabia’s managing director of Snapchat, Abdullah Al-Hammadi, was the first of its type in the Middle East to fuse technology with fashion.

To let visitors fully immerse themselves in the worlds of the many designers and their sources of inspiration, a room’s theme can be changed by modifying the filter therein.
