How UAE Visa Cancellations Are Affecting Bangladeshi Workers Abroad

Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi has sought details of residency from Bangladeshi nationals who were affected by the purported cancellation of UAE visas. The Embassy in a special notification on July 31 said it has taken note of information from various sources about the cancellation of visas of some expat Bangladeshis in the UAE and is closely monitoring the situation.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi has sought information on residency from Bangladeshi residents who have been affected by suspected cancellations of UAE visas. The Embassy said the information obtained from these individuals will help “to create an accurate, reliable and updated database related to this matter.” They have been instructed to transmit the relevant information to the official e-mail address of the Embassy, mission.abudhabi@mofa.gov.bd, at the earliest. Those who have already provided the required information do not have to resend it, the authority said.

It added that the responsible authorities, including the Bangladesh government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare, were aware of the matter and were continuously monitoring the situation. The Embassy will provide updates once accurate and confirmed information is available from the government.
