In a Single Week, The Kingdom Apprehends 17,389 Illegals

RIYADH: The Saudi Press Agency said on Saturday that Saudi officials detained 17,389 individuals in a single week for violating laws pertaining to residency, employment, and border security. 10,397 persons were arrested for breaking residency restrictions, 4,128 were detained for attempting to cross the border illegally, and 2,864 were detained for labor-related reasons.

According to the study, 3 percent of the 1,483 individuals detained for attempting to enter the Kingdom unlawfully were of other nationalities, 41% were Yemenis, and 56% were Ethiopians. According to the SPA, 15 people were detained for their roles in concealing and transporting violators, and another 104 were apprehended while attempting to enter nearby nations.

Anyone found to be facilitating illegal entry into the Kingdom faces a potential 15-year prison sentence and a fine of up to SR1 million ($260,000), according to the Ministry of Interior. In Makkah and Riyadh, you can report suspected infractions by calling the toll-free number 911; in other parts of the Kingdom, you can call 999 or 996.
