RIYADH: According to the Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Jeddah on Saturday. Araghchi met with high-ranking Saudi officials in Jeddah to talk about bilateral matters as well as regional and global events.
During the reception, the two ministers discussed ways to support Saudi-Iranian cooperation in several areas. According to SPA, they also discussed the most recent regional advancements and initiatives taken in this area. According to an Iranian ministry spokeswoman on Friday, Araghchi is anticipated to visit Qatar later to take part in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue meeting in Doha.
Also, the visit precedes US President Donald Trump’s anticipated travel to the area and the indirect US-Iran talks that are set for Sunday in Oman. Araghchi visited Jeddah to have a meeting with high-ranking Saudi authorities.The visit precedes Sunday’s potential indirect US-Iranian negotiations in Oman.
