India If There is a Terrorist Attack," PM Modi Threatens to Launch Additional Attacks Against Pakistan

NEW DELHI/ISLAMABAD: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a warning to Pakistan on Monday, saying that if there were any more attacks on India, New Delhi would once more target “terrorist hideouts” across the border and would not be intimidated by what he described as Islamabad’s “nuclear blackmail.”

India’s stance on relations with its neighbour, which were tense even before the most recent conflict, appeared to harden with Modi’s first public remarks since Indian military forces started attacks on what New Delhi claimed were “terrorist camps” across the border last week.

Pakistan said the places India struck last week were civilian sites and refutes Indian claims that it backs militants who attack it. Modi stated during a broadcast speech in Hindi. “We will track Pakistan’s progress over the next several days to see its adopted mindset.

After four days of fierce gunfire, during which the former adversaries used drones and missiles to strike each other’s military sites, killing hundreds of people, a truce was finally agreed upon.

Following a militant attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir last month that claimed 26 lives, India said on Wednesday that it has commenced attacks on nine “terrorist infrastructure” facilities in Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir. This marked the start of the military conflict.
