On Saturday, the Israeli army escalated its attacks on southern Lebanon’s border communities, demolishing and leveling many residential areas.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced Israel’s “disregard for international law and humanitarian standards.”
According to the statement, “Israel’s intention to prolong the war and expand its scope is clear evidence of the deliberate killing of large numbers of unarmed Palestinian civilians in the attack against the Al-Taba’een school in the Gaza Strip, especially as international mediators intensify efforts to reach a ceasefire.”
According to the ministry, the Israeli government’s disrespect for international law and humanitarian norms is evident through the Israeli occupation army’s “systematic and indiscriminate shelling, as well as the killing of civilians and children.”
In order to save the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and put a stop to this humanitarian calamity, it called on “the international community and relevant countries to take a unified, serious and effective stance.”
“Stopping the assault on Gaza and adopting a peaceful diplomatic path by taking genuine actions to force Israel to embrace a two-state solution in line with relevant international resolutions is the first step to averting de-escalation and a larger crisis in the region,” the ministry continued.
