Lebanon Reports One Dead, Seven Injured in Israeli Airstrikes

Israeli airstrikes on Thursday struck multiple areas across southern and eastern Lebanon, killing one person and wounding seven others, according to Lebanon’s health ministry. The attacks were carried out despite a ceasefire agreement brokered in November 2024 between Israel and Hezbollah.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the strikes, accusing Israel of deliberately targeting civilian sites and vital facilities. He said the attacks reflect “a systematic policy aimed at destroying productive infrastructure and obstructing Lebanon’s economic recovery under false security claims.” The president described the strikes as a clear violation of the ceasefire and international law.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that strikes hit the towns of Bnaafoul in Sidon, Khirbet Dweir near Sarafand, and areas between Roumine and Houmine in Nabatieh district. Additional attacks were recorded in Blida, Marjayoun, and Baalbek.

The Israeli military stated that its operations specifically targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and facilities tied to Green Without Borders — an NGO under US sanctions that Israel alleges functions as a civilian front for Hezbollah operations along the border.
