Korean Culture is Celebrated During the Jeddah Festival

JEDDAH: The Korean International School in Jeddah has hosted the Korean Culture Festival, which was arranged by the South Korean Consulate General. About 500 people attended this year’s event, which was themed “Enjoy Korea ” and aimed to honour Korean culture and heritage and the developing connection between Saudi Arabia and Korea.

The event, which takes place every year, is a part of the consulate’s initiatives to promote cross-cultural interaction and deepen relations between the two countries. Consul General Woo Hong-koo opened the ceremony by discussing the long-standing ties between Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

He stated: “This event offers a great chance to increase locals’ interest in Korea.” Korea’s economy, which ranks 12th in the world, has grown thanks in large part to its long-standing partnership with Saudi Arabia. With activities like this, we hope to encourage more people to discover Korea, a nation that embraces everyone with its vibrant customs, rich culture, and the worldwide phenomenon of K-pop.”

One of the festival’s highlights was a pansori concert, a traditional Korean musical storytelling performance, featuring Chae Soo-jung, the head of the World Pansori Association, who travelled from South Korea to take part.
