Rabat: Morocco saw approximately 20 million tourist arrivals in 2025, setting a new record for the North African country, according to the Ministry of Tourism. The kingdom received 19.8 million tourists, a 14 percent rise over the previous year, according to the report.
The ministry lauded the figure as a “historic accomplishment.” Tourism sales surpassed $13 billion, representing a 19% increase over 2024.Morocco’s participation in hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, along with Spain and Portugal, is a major driver of this goal. The World Cup will shine a light on Morocco, attracting millions of people and international media attention. The event will not only raise the country’s profile but will also act as a springboard for future tourist growth, demonstrating Morocco’s potential as a world-class destination for both sports fans and leisure travellers.
Authorities attributed the development to the company’s emphasis on enhancing aviation connections to other nations, expanding services, and broadening its tourism products. The country, which is presently holding the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) football event, hopes to attract 26 million tourists by 2030.
