RIYADH: As Saudi Arabia prepares for this year’s Hajj, the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque has developed a new smart site to improve pilgrims’ digital experience at the Grand Mosque.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the program provides well-curated Islamic information in a streamlined and comprehensive format that meets the demands of pilgrims, tourists, and Umrah performers. The site provides a fully integrated digital platform for offering religious and enrichment programs.
Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, described it as the first smart, faith-based site of its kind: innovative, internationally accessible, and highly controlled. It is designed in several languages and uses a thoroughly vetted and standardised database to act as an enriching reference for pilgrims.
The interactive platform is driven by many smart technologies and includes a variety of features such as prayer time displays, notifications regarding imams and muezzins, and religious lecture schedules with locations. Its interactive navigation function stands out, allowing visitors to use the app’s smart maps to find service and instructional locations.
