RIYADH: In honour of Saudi Founding Day, Arab leaders have congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia. According to the Saudi Press Agency, Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah congratulated the Saudi King and crown prince on Saudi Founding Day via cable. Sheikh Meshal commended Saudi Arabia in the cable for its outstanding accomplishments in a number of areas, which have enhanced its reputation both domestically and internationally.
It has “a special and precious place for the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and it is a living witness to the great legacy and impressive achievements,” said Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, who also thanked the Saudi authorities on the occasion.
Additionally, the UAE authorities congratulated the Saudi officials on Founding Day through cables. In honour of Saudi Founding Day, February 22 was designated as an official date in Saudi Arabia. It began three centuries ago in 1727, when Imam Muhammad bin Saud led the establishment of the first Saudi state.
