Qatar Is Not Alone”– Arab and Islamic Countries Stand in Solidarity

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Sunday condemned Israel, stressing that silence from the international community only paves the way for more crimes. He made the remarks during a preparatory session held in Doha on the eve of an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders.

To begin with Aboul Gheit underlined that the summit itself sends a strong message of solidarity. Qatar is not alone. The Arab and Islamic worlds stand beside it, he said. Furthermore he argued that Israel’s recent actions are the result of “two years of international silence on the genocide in Gaza,” which in turn has encouraged Israel to act without consequences.

The emergency meeting was organized after Israel launched an unprecedented air strike on Sept. 9, 2025 targeting the homes of several Hamas officials in Doha. As a result, six people were killed, although the strike missed the negotiators who were the primary target.

Consequently, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry announced that leaders will discuss and draft a resolution addressing the Israeli attack on Qatari soil. In addition, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, delivered a firm warning to the international community. He urged the world powers to “stop using double standards” and hold Israel accountable.
