Riyadh Backs Egypt’s Stand Against Palestinian Displacement Plans

Palestinian Displacement Plans

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday strongly condemned recent remarks by the Israeli prime minister calling for the displacement of Palestinians from their land, including through the Rafah border crossing. The ministry also denounced Israel’s continued use of blockades and starvation tactics, describing them as tools of forced displacement.

In a statement, the ministry said such practices represent a clear violation of international law, humanitarian principles, and fundamental human rights. It reaffirmed the Kingdom’s full support for Egypt’s stance on the matter and urged immediate global action to address Israel’s escalating policies against Palestinians.

Riyadh stressed that the international community, particularly the permanent members of the UN Security Council, must act swiftly to stop these actions. The Kingdom reiterated its absolute rejection of any form of displacement and renewed calls to hold Israel accountable for genocide and grave violations targeting civilians.

Saudi Arabia also emphasised the urgent need to safeguard the Palestinian people and ensure their right to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, calling it the only path to regional stability.
