Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb met with Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism Fatima Al Sairafi on Sunday on the sidelines of the Gateway Gulf 2025 Investment Forum in Manama. The meeting focused on boosting tourism collaboration between the two neighboring kingdoms and activating the existing memorandum of understanding aimed at positioning Saudi Arabia and Bahrain as a unified tourist destination in regional and international markets.
Both ministers reviewed potential initiatives to attract more visitors, strengthen integration in tourism services, and enhance joint marketing strategies. They underscored the importance of developing cruise tourism, improving connectivity through land and air routes, and encouraging private sector participation to enrich travelers’ experiences. The discussions also centered on aligning tourism efforts with both countries’ economic diversification goals, emphasizing tourism’s growing role as a key contributor to GDP and job creation.
During the forum, Al-Khateeb also met Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to discuss broader cooperation in investment and infrastructure projects supporting tourism development across the Gulf region. These meetings reflect the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and their shared vision for sustainable tourism growth.
