Saudi Arabia Advances AI and Technology Through Collaborations With the US

JEDDAH: During an investment summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia partnered with top US tech companies to advance its cloud computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Six agreements between Kingdom businesses and US firms were signed during the occasion, demonstrating the growing strategic and technical collaboration between the two nations. High-ranking officials from both nations attended the event, which got underway on May 13 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre in the Saudi capital.

During US President Donald Trump’s visit, the Kingdom announced the sealing of agreements worth over $300 billion with the North American nation. The Saudi News Agency claims these agreements represent a major advancement in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to create a knowledge-based, diversified economy through strategic international alliances.

At the ceremony, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, or SDAIA, signed four memoranda of understanding with US technology companies PureStorage, DataDirect Network, Wika.io, and Palo Alto Networks.

According to SPA, the agreements seek to improve the Kingdom’s data and artificial intelligence infrastructure, spur technological innovation, and fortify collaboration in technical and cybersecurity domains.

Separately, the Saudi Digital Government Authority and Oracle, a top US multinational technology corporation, inked a Memorandum of Understanding to further cooperation in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital services.
