Saudi Arabia Invites bidders to bid on 22 Gravel and Sand Quarry Sites

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia has launched a competitive bidding process for 22 gravel and sand quarry sites to ensure a steady domestic supply of essential materials to support the country’s expanding construction sector.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced on Sunday that the sites are located in the Eastern Province and the Tabuk region.

According to the government, ten of these locations are in the Eastern Province. These include five regular sand licenses in the Northwest Salwa Complex and five gravel licenses at the Al-Masnah Crushers Complex, which is northeast of Hafar Al-Batin. There are also twelve gravel licenses available at the South Wadi Amq Complex, which is located in the Tabuk region southeast of Haql.

This program is a component of Saudi Arabia’s larger strategy to make mining, in addition to oil and petrochemicals, a third pillar of its industrial base.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources is committed to utilizing the more than 5,300 mineral sites in the Kingdom, which are valued at over SR5 trillion ($1.33 trillion), in order to stimulate economic growth.
