Saudi Arabia has now risen to 13th place in the world and advanced 14 spots in the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Enforcement Index. According to the 2025 World Competitiveness Yearbook, the Kingdom ranked 27th in 2024.
The International Institute for Management Development’s (IMD) World Competitiveness Centre publishes the yearbook. One of the primary competitiveness reports that the National Competitiveness Centre monitors in collaboration with relevant government departments is this year’s report.
The 13th edition of the American Chamber of Commerce’s “World Intellectual Property Rights Index 2025” report saw Saudi Arabia make a notable leap, with its overall score rising 17.55 percent, placing it among the top-ranked nations out of the 55 global economies covered.
Saudi Arabia’s reported advancements are the result of improved institutional and judicial efficiency as well as a stronger local and international enforcement of intellectual property rights. Innovative national programs with proven models for strengthening integration and combining governance include the Intellectual Property Respect Officer, the Permanent Enforcement Committee, and the Respect Council. The establishment of a public prosecution office focused on intellectual property matters has helped expedite court proceedings and enhance the effectiveness of the litigation system.
